Nice to meet you! I’m David, a Seattle-based photographer with a background in design.
I have been a photographer for most of my life, but I also spent over 7 years of my adult life working in UX design and research (view my work here). That experience not only helped me understand how businesses set and achieve their goals, but also shaped how I approach any work: making sure that every decision is grounded in solid data and reasoning, then letting the creative gears turn from there.
I bring that same mindset to photography. Every shoot begins with understanding the goals of the project, the story being told, and the people it is meant to serve. The result is images that feel purposeful, cohesive, and grounded in intention.
I believe images carry more weight when they come from a real person making real decisions: how light is used, how a subject is approached, what moments are worth capturing. That human presence is part of the final image, even if it’s invisible at first glance.
For brands and modern creatives, imagery isn’t just visual — it’s communicative. The images you put into the world reflect what you value and what you want to be known for. I work with clients who care about that distinction. People who value authenticity, intention, and craft, and who want imagery that feels uniquely aligned with who they are, not generated or cliché.
If you’re looking for photography created with this approach, I’d love to collaborate.
